Smells like Wind, Ice, and Freedom

Old Spice you have done it again.

I was first delighted with this commercial! 'I'm on a horse' Ha ha ha, oh man.

Then I was walking through Target and headed over to get Codes some more deodorant and guess what I found? Old Spice Matterhorn!! What?! This will be perfect for our upcoming Disneyland trip on Thursday! And what does the Matterhorn smell like you might ask? .. Ice, Wind and Freedom!

It smells delicious. I am wearing it right now.

We'll start with the avocado fries please

For my and Cody's first selection we chose to make fried avocado slices!!! (if you don't understand what I am talking about you might want to read my valentines day post)

Me and Codes made these little beauties last week! We chose to make an appetizer because Cody's school was rough and he got home really late every night. These little gems came to be on Sunday afternoon.

We decided that these would be Ah-mazing on hamburgers! They were SO good, but a little too hard for an app. They needed to be eaten right away for maximum goodness. we also spiced things up by adding grated Parmesan to the batter before it was fried.

I'm already traumatized

Shamoo?...
Free Willy? ...

I have been fooled all these years to believe that killer whales are large, rubbery tubes of love. Apparently this isn't true. Today a trainer was killed in front of a LIVE audience!!!! Thats right, good old Shamoo viciously attacked a trainer. Are you kidding me!? Can you imagine all the 5 year olds watching that from the audience?

Good luck explaining that one parents. I'm traumatized, and I wasn't even there!

V-Day Madness

Valentines day was ah-mazing this year. Mack slept in until 7:00, which was glorious in itself. Then we made strawberry Nutella crepes. - a fat-filled staple over here at the Huffaker's house.

Afterwards we headed off to Kabuki, one of our favorite Japanese restaurants. They have the best tempura EVER! (no pics, i forgot my camera) My mom was kind enough to watch little Mack so we could have an afternoon to ourselves. Thanks mom!

After Kabuki we went and saw Valentines Day. Natural choice. It was pretty funny, other than the one lame line when the black guy said something like "I'm the chocolate" .. what the.

After lunch and the movie we went and picked up Schnubs (thats what we call Mack) From there we headed to the park to enjoy that beautiful sunny day! We played a little basketball. This was fun until Mack was mad that he couldn't have the ball.

Park of choice? .. Riverview. ha ha. The closest.

Mack loves the water. He kept trying to dive in. Mack obviously is a rookie to Riverview park and the trash that is thrown in the nasty water.

This trip also inspired me to teach Mack to say Hola instead of Hello.

At around 6:30 we put Mack to sleep and made and enjoyed dinner together. We started with this sourdough bread and oil and balsamic vinegar. Delicious.

For dinner we made artichoke, spinich, chicken and penne pasta with fresh grated parmigiano reggiano. Loved it!

After dinner we watched the movie chocolate (thanks cody ;) and we ate these fantastic tuxedo cakes with raspberry sauce.

Along with the movie chocolate and sees Candies (I love me some bordeaux) Cody also gave me a cooking magazine and a journal. In the journal he told me that once a week he would love to pick something fun to try and make and then to make it together. How cute is that!! I love to cook and I loved this!! (blog posts will follow.)
Cody is so sweet and so good to me I am the luckiest girl in the world and so happy. Thank you Cody for a beautiful day!!

Spoon full of Sugar

Saturday Night me, my mom and my sister went and saw Marry Poppins the musical at Gamage. I was a skeptical at first. - (Disney Movies turned to musicals sounds weird to me) BUT it was SO so good! If you get the chance, Go see it!

This is me and Dee in the theater. It is a bad pic because it was taken from my phone. - Oh, and my hat looks really ugly there but in real life it is seriously cute. Have I mentioned that I have collected hats since my jr. year in high school? I used to display them in my room on manikin heads. (But that is a different story altogether)

The point I am trying to make is.. go see Marry Poppins. The End.

Mack and His Noises

What a neglectful mom. My son is growing so big and I am lacking some major updates.

This video was taken like a month ago. Mack is so funny. He sings all the time. Especially in his crib in the mornings, in his car seat, and when I play soft pretty music on the piano. (he doesn't sing when I play prokofiev) ha ha

Mack also makes a weird rolling the tongue sound in the back of his throat. He has done that for months now but I thought I needed to document it. Mack also said his first word like a month ago. 'Light' - which is appropriate because he LOVES lights, lamps, and anything that lights up. I am sad I couldn't really get him to say it on this video, but whatev. - Mack doesn't perform. When we go on walks he looks up at each street lamp and even though they aren't on he says 'Ight' at each one. He also sings OOoooo with his little mouth puckered but I couldn't find a video with this.

I am so in love with this little boy. He is so smart and amazing. I am so lucky.

Dirty Little Secrets

I Love Mail!!! love. love. love. Every day I get it and am so excited to see what I got for that day! I love it all. Letters, coupons, free samples (I am addicted to signing up for all free samples possible. ..my prune samples should be on their way) Anyway, point being, I love getting the mail!

Today as I made my walk to the mail box I was filled with my usual gleeful anticipation! What was I going to find today!?

As I opened our mailbox and was rifling through our mail I came across this little beauty. O magazine? What? Did the mailman get the right box? I don't subscribe/read Oprah! Hmmm what should I do? I'll just give it back to the mail man and.....

What?...

What?...

Can this possibly be what I think it is?..

Darin Huffaker!? This magazine is yours!!! HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA.

Oh Cody, (BTW for all you who don't know, Cody's first name is Darin..laugh its okay) there is never a day where you don't surprise me and make me laugh out loud. Hard.

Later that night when Cody got home from school I slyly told Cody his magazine came today and was on the counter for him. hee hee hee hee

Sure Cody, keep denying that you subscribed. I know your new Celeb crush isn't Jessica Alba at all. It is Oprah Winfrey!!

The proof is in the pudding love.
